Hagley U3A

What is the u3a?

The u3a is a nationwide, not-for-profit, self-run organisation created to help everyone enjoy a positive and fulfilling later life.

‘u3a’ stands for ‘the university of the third age’, because it is based on the belief that we can all benefit from discovering new interests and activities long after our responsibilities as wage-earners and child-rearers have diminished.

There are thousands of individual local u3a organisations all over the UK. Each local u3a group is totally self-organised and based entirely within its own community. The whole u3a organisation comes under the umbrella of the national Third Age Trust.

Every local u3a local group has its own character. Sizes of the various u3a local groups vary. And as the range of special interest groups and activities are provided by the members themselves, what each u3a group offers its members varies tremendously too.

Why you should join Hagley u3a

If you are retired or semi-retired, living in the Hagley area, would like to get a little bit more out of life while contributing a little bit more to your community, then you should definitely consider joining the Hagley u3a.

You will have the opportunity to make new friends, develop new interests and pass on your own specialist skills and knowledge to an appreciative community of like-minded people.

And as u3a groups go, we are a quite small and friendly local group; so you will soon get to know everyone and be chatting away with your new acquaintances in no time.
